| T2217 Unusual vessels visit Manchester. Submarines were frequent visitors to Manchester from the First World War onwards. A captured German submarine U-111 was on show during 1919 in Pomona Dock. This photograph is of either HMS Oberon or HMS Opossum, both Oberon Class Patrol submarines of the Royal Navy, coming up the Ship Canal in early 1976. | |
