T2536. This aerial view of the area over Pomona Docks shows at the top of the photograph the sidings and sheds belonging to the Cheshire Lines Committee at Cornbrook. On the right of the photograph a new building is being constructed for Colgate Palmolive. The firm still have premises on the site. The photograph also clearly shows how close the workers' housing was to industry in the area. Much of the back to back housing has now been cleared to be replaced by modern housing and flats. Industrial use has changed too. 'White-collar' employees, working in offices, have replaced many of the 'blue-collar' manual workers of the older heavy industries once in the area.
